The Filter House
Some water channeled through the aqueduct system was sent through a filtration system inside this filter house to make it suitable for drinking.
Water first entered an intake box and was filtered by a series of wire mesh screens. After this filtration process a pipe transported water from the intake box to the filter box, where sediment was removed. The water then entered an 8-inch pipeline and flowed to the storage reservoir at the Mission.
Repairing a water filter housing
Just fixed a water filter. I took apart the red pressure relief button where it was leaking from (you're not supposed to do that) & found sediment on the o-ring. I fashioned a tool out of a nail & a bit of rag to clean out the inside of the housing & to help put the button back together. Re-assembled it & it no longer leaks!
